Sagina subulata
[Irish Moss]
Size (ships bareroot) - 3" pot $4.95
Height Light
Under 12 in. Sun Spring White 4 - 7

A creeping, moss-like, evergreen groundcover that can be used as a replacement for lawn in cool-summer regions. Irish Moss is especially beautiful growing between pavers and flagstones on a path or wall. It can also be used as an underplanting beneath taller plants. Delightful tiny white flowers appear atop the tight green carpet of foliage from late spring to midsummer.

Care: Sagina grows best in full sun but should be protected from the hot afternoon sun in southern zones. Evenly moist soil is best and good drainage is essential. The foliage will begin to brown if the plants get too dry. For best results, plant it in a container where moisture and light levels can be controlled.
